Volunteer of the Month – May 2019: Su Wei

1. What is your background (profession/ workplace/ training)?

I'm a doctor training in general medicine and have an interest in international and public health.

2. What inspired you to become a Water Well volunteer

I have always had an interest in public health and believe in the value of education in empowering people to take control of and improve their health and well-being. Water Well is a way for me to share some of what I know with people who might not have had the opportunity to learn about health.

3. Please share one of your favourite Water Well sessions or moments.

I have really enjoyed visiting a few Vietnamese associations in my last few sessions and seeing the communities enjoying themselves and providing each other's company. They have invited us to join them for lunch after the sessions too!

4. What tips do you have for new volunteers?

Don't be afraid to sign up for your first sessions. It's a fun experience and so nice to meet some lovely people and share your knowledge outside of the usual workplace.
