2. What inspired you to become a volunteer with The Water Well Project?
A good friend of mine recommended The Water Well Project, saying “you will absolutely love this”- she was correct! Volunteering with The Water Well Project beautifully blends my love of teaching and my health background in a way that is so meaningful to local community groups. The opportunity to share the privilege I’ve experienced of in-depth health knowledge with the local refugee and migrant communities, from mums at a local preschool to elderly community groups, is a wonderful part of volunteering with The Water Well Project.
3. Please share one of your favourite The Water Well Project sessions or moments.
I love learning new things from each community group I facilitate a session for. The session on nutrition and healthy eating has brought up some amazing new cooking ideas- did you know you can make Roti with water?!? (rather than ghee, oil or butter!). I’m yet to give it a try, but I’ve been assured it tastes the same!
