I’m currently a PGY2 resident working at Royal North Shore hospital in Sydney, hoping to pursue a career in O&G in the future.
2. What inspired you to become a Water Well volunteer?
Water Well was recommended to me by a lovely colleague as a fun and rewarding way to support groups that unfortunately we aren’t always able to work alongside in our day to day jobs.
3. Please share one of your favourite Water Well sessions or moments.
One of the standout Water Well sessions for me was a group of beautiful Nepalese women opening up about their struggles with social isolation during COVID and making strong connections in such a short period of time.
4. What tips do you have for new volunteers?
I’d emphasise the importance of allowing each session to be guided by the individual audience and their needs/understanding and trying to encourage an open discussion as much as possible rather than rigidly following the slides.
