The healthcare system can be difficult to understand, especially when there’s a language barrier. I started volunteering for Water Well with the idea that I could give people tools to help navigate some of these challenges.
3. Please share one of your favourite Water Well sessions or moments.
My favourite sessions are the ones where it’s a little quiet at the start, but by the end, everyone in the room is asking questions, and it brings to the fore how effective Water Well is at helping to improve health literacy.
4. What tips do you have for new volunteers?
As health care professionals, we often know more than we think, so for new volunteers, I’d recommend putting your name down for the first session you can (post-COVID), and just give it a go!
